The price of Brent North Sea crude, the main international benchmark, has sunk back under $100 per barrel on hopes that diplomatic progress can be made on ending the US-Iran war, AFP reports.
Brent has tumbled four per cent to $99.69, while the main US contract, West Texas Intermediate, has slumped 5pc to $95.22 per barrel.
