Oil prices have eased to their lowest level in 12 days, as investors hope for diplomatic progress on the Iran war due to this week’s United Nations meeting, and eye a partial recovery in shipments from Saudi Arabia, Reuters reports.

As of 1716 GMT (10:16pm PKT), the Brent crude futures November contract is at its lowest since September 9 at $99.51 a barrel, down $4.36, or 4.2 per cent.

The WTI October contract, which is expiring on Tuesday, has fallen $5.30, or 5.28pc, to $95 a barrel. The November contract stands at $91.68.
