Eight US Navy personnel assigned to the USS Abraham Lincoln carrier strike group attempted suicide during its lengthy deployment in the fight against Iran, The Wall Street Journal reports, citing a letter the acting Navy secretary sent to a Democratic senator.
According to the media report, Acting Navy Secretary Hung Cao discussed the attempted suicides in a letter to Senator Kirsten Gillibrand who had asked about suicide attempts, mental-health resources and living conditions on the ship.
