KARACHI: A property dealer was found shot dead in his car near Seaview on Wednesday, police said.
The Sahil police identified the victim as Muhammad Mairaj, 45, and said he sustained a single bullet wound to his chest.
South SSP Mahzoor Ali told the media that the body was lying on the driver’s seat while the car doors were locked from inside. A spent bullet casing was recovered from the car but no pistol was found there.
The SSP said that it appeared that the bullet was fired from inside. It indicated that he might have been killed by someone familiar who was travelling with him.
He said that a mobile phone was found in the car and investigators called the deceased’s family, who informed the police that they lived in Nazimabad and the deceased was a property dealer.
The body was shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for legal formalities.
Pregnant woman found shot dead
The body of an unidentified pregnant woman was found in a desolate area near Quaid-i-Azam Park in Gulshan-i-Hadeed on Wednesday, police and rescue services officials said.
The Bin Qasim police said the woman, aged around 17, was shot in the head. The body was shifted to the JPMC for medico-legal formalities.
Police Surgeon Dr Summaiya Syed said the victim was pregnant. Samples have been collected for serology and DNA, she added.
