KARACHI: A property dealer was found shot dead in his car near Seaview on Wednesday, police said.

The Sahil police identified the victim as Muhammad Mairaj, 45, and said he sustained a single bullet wound to his chest.

South SSP Mahzoor Ali told the media that the body was lying on the driver’s seat while the car doors were locked from inside. A spent bullet casing was recovered from the car but no pistol was found there.

The SSP said that it appeared that the bullet was fired from inside. It indicated that he might have been killed by someone familiar who was travelling with him.

He said that a mobile phone was found in the car and investigators called the deceased’s family, who informed the police that they lived in Nazimabad and the deceased was a property dealer.

The body was shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for legal formalities.
