GWADAR: A private school came under attack in Kech district on Friday, officials said.
Armed men entered the premises of Roshan Grammar School in the Menaz area of Buleda tehsil and opened fire, they said, adding that the school’s CCTV system was destroyed in the attack.
Confirming the incident, the school’s director Zahoor Baloch told reporters that the attack was carried out during Friday prayers. Mr Baloch, who is currently in Karachi, said that according to his staff, around eight armed assailants entered the premises and opened indiscriminate fire.
This marks the fifth attack on the school. According to the director, previous attacks, including an arson attempt in which school furniture was also gutted, had caused significant damage.
Repeated attacks on the private educational institution have raised concerns among local residents regarding security.
