Thieves steal $5 million gold toilet

Nothing is safe in this world once thieves set their eyes on it. Recently, burglars stole an 18-carat gold toilet from Britain’s Blenheim Palace, where it had been installed as an art exhibit, police have disclosed.

The toilet, valued at more than $5 million, was part of an exhibition of work by Italian conceptual artist Maurizio Cattelan at the stately home 60 miles west of London, a major tourist attraction.

The toilet, named “America”, was previously on display in a cubicle at New York’s Guggenheim Museum, where more than 100,000 visitors were able to use it.

Thieves with at least two vehicles broke into the palace, the birthplace of World War Two leader Winston Churchill, and removed the toilet.

“Due to the toilet being plumbed in to the building, this has caused significant damage and flooding,” Detective Inspector Jess Milne added in a public statement.

‘Horn’ on the head

Weird things do happen around us. A farmer in India suddenly started to have a growth on his head, which looked and felt like a horn. At first, he ignored but when it increased the size, he decided to go to the doctor who prescribed him a surgery.

The man told that the protruding horn started growing around five years ago, after he bumped his head. At first, it was kept under control by his barber. But the farmer said it soon became hard and got so long that he had to seek help from doctors.

The growth — called a sebaceous horn — is understood to be made of keratin, found in toenails and human hair. Neurosurgeons at Bhagyoday Tirth Hospital in Sagar city, India, removed the lump and the man is now recovering.

Only for horror movie fans

This news will excite lovers of the horror genre because a Utah-based company has offered up a horror fan’s dream job: Watching 13 movies based on Stephen King stories and documenting the experience.

The website, USDish.com is accepting applications for the temporary position, which requires the winning candidate to watch all 13 movies before Halloween and take steps, including monitoring their heart rate during scary scenes and writing about their feelings on each film.

The company chose 13 films, but it will be up to the selected person to decide whether to watch originals or remakes in cases where more than one adaptation has been produced.

The chosen movies are Carrie, Children of the Corn, Christine, Creepshow, Cujo, Dreamcatcher, It, The Mist, Pet Sematary, Salem’s Lot, The Shining and Thinner.

The winner will be paid $1,300 and will also receive a flashlight, blanket, popcorn, candy and a Stephen King prize package.

Say cheese!

For all the cheese lovers out there this news comes out straight from cheesy dreams. A London eatery is drawing in dairy-loving patrons with an unusual gimmick — being the “world’s first conveyor belt cheese restaurant.”

The Pick & Cheese restaurant in Seven Dials Market in Covent Garden offers 25 varieties of cheese sourced from around Britain on a 130-foot conveyor belt that passes by patrons.

The cheese plates are colour-coded by price, and ‘cheese flight’ options are also available. The eatery also offers cheese-themed ‘off-belt dishes’, including a grilled cheese sandwich and pan-fried angloumi.

The eatery purports to be the ‘world’s first conveyor belt cheese restaurant.’
