TOBA TEK SINGH: Former provincial minister Rai Taimoor Bhatti from Jhang was attacked by four people riding two motorcycles in Jhang’s Qadirabad police station area on Sunday night.

In his FIR, registered under sections 324 and 34 of the Pakistan Penal Code, he stated he and his companions were travelling in two vehicles near Shah Jeewana Mandi Mor on Sargodha Road when two of the four motorcyclists opened indiscriminate fire on both vehicles. As a result, multiple bullets hit both vehicles; however, he and his companions remained unhurt.

He alleged unidentified attackers attempted to take his life at the behest of his political opponent who had previously registered a case against him. No arrests have been made.

Mr Bhatti was a minister in the PTI government, but he quit the party after the May 9 incidents.

KILLER: A youth turned out to be the killer of his father in Toba Tek Singh.

The police reported that Ali Haider Jat had a case registered with the city police against unidentified assassins for the killing of his father, Muhammad Salim, a few days ago.

When police interrogated Jat, he confessed that he had shot his father because he had forbidden him from going out with his friends.

MURDER: A man killed his brother over a dispute regarding the share of the electricity bill for their house in Faisalabad’s Chak 61-RB on Monday.

According to the FIR, registered under sections 302 and 34 of PPC, complainant Raheela Tabassum claimed that her deceased husband, Muhammad Faiz, and his younger accused brother, Ghulam Fareed, quarrelled over the power bill issue.

Fareed attacked Faiz with a chopper, resulting in critical injuries. Faiz was rushed to the DHQ Hospital, where he succumbed to his wounds.

The Balochni police have arrested the suspect.

PROTEST: Scores of people from Faisalabad’s Chak 4-JB and other surrounding villages blocked traffic on the Sargodha-Kamalpur bypass on Monday after two persons from a family died as a result of being hit by a truck while on their motorcycle.

They demanded the immediate arrest of the truck driver, who fled the scene.

They told reporters that speeding trucks often cause accidents, but the police have failed to enforce speed limits on the drivers.

Rescue 1122 officials said both deceased, Mohsin Ali and his brother’s wife, Shakila Asif, 30, from Chak 4-JB, were on their way to Faisalabad when the truck coming from the opposite direction ran over their bike.
