RAWALPINDI: The Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB) announced that it would provide 10pc concession to residents if they cleared their property tax, water bills and sanitation fee by June 30.

RCB Cantonment Executive Officer Syed Ali Irfan told Dawn that the 10pc discount was being provided to the residents to encourage them to pay their property tax and other bills of the fiscal year 2023-24.

“Normally, we give 15pc discount to those residents who submit their taxes between July and September, however this time we are providing 10pc discount to encourage people to pay their property tax within the given date otherwise the defaulters will have to pay a penalty after June 30,” he said.

Mr Irfan said all outstanding bills had been sent to the residents. However, he added that individuals who had not received their bills could contact the RCB’s main office or the board’s care centre to avail the 10pc discount on their taxes.

In order to facilitate citizens, the RCB chief said the National Bank Booth Cantonment Board Branch would remain open on Saturdays from June 22 to 29th from 9am to 12:30pm.

He said the bank administration would also facilitate people so that they did not face any problem in depositing their dues and provided them with best facilities.

“The revenue staff will also be present in the offices for proper guidance. Taxpayers are requested to take advantage of this facility and fulfill their obligations so that the cantonment board can continue its services to deliver better civic amenities,” he added.
