KARACHI: A milk trader was shot dead by armed robbers in North Karachi on Monday, police said.
Khawaja Ajmer Nagri SHO Faizul Hasan said Nasir Khan, 41, had withdrawn over Rs1million cash from a bank and was on his way in his car. When he reached near Peer Bazaar, Sector-4, two robbers riding a motorbike intercepted him and demanded the cash.
However, as he put up resistance, the armed robbers opened fire on him and fled without any loot.
He sustained critical wounds and was taken to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead. The victim originally hailed from Rawalpindi.
Robbers shoot man, loot over Rs7m
Armed robbers shot at and wounded a man and snatched over Rs7 million on the main Superhighway near New Subzi Mandi on Monday.
East SSP Zubair Nazir Shaikh said Ashfaq, a petrol pump owner, was on his way in a car to deposit cash at a bank when two robbers, also travelling in a four-wheeler, intercepted him. They demanded cash at gunpoint. However, he put up resistance and the robbers shot him and fled with the cash.
The man sustained a bullet wound to his leg and was taken to a hospital where his condition was stated to be out of danger.
