TOBA TEK SINGH: At least 20 passengers were injured when a bus plunged into a roadside ditch on Jhang-Multan Road near Gharaybun Kutia in the Saddar area of Jhang on Wednesday.

According to Rescue 1122, the bus was travelling from Multan to Jhang when the driver lost control after a motorcyclist suddenly appeared in front of the vehicle from Ali Abad Link Road.

The driver reportedly tried to save the motorcyclist, causing the bus to veer off the road and fall into the ditch.

Rescue teams provided first aid to 15 passengers at the scene, while five critically injured passengers were shifted to DHQ Hospital, Jhang. They were identified as Riaz Hussain (65), Muhammad Toheed (18), Ahmad Saleem (12), Razia Riaz (50), and Abubakar (14).

In another incident in Ahmadpur Sial tehsil of Jhang, one person died and another injured in a collision between a mini-truck and a loader rickshaw on Muzaffargarh Road near Pir Abdul Rehman Stop.

The deceased was identified as 70-year-old Muhammad Tufail. The injured person was shifted to THQ Hospital, Ahmadpur Sial.
