SAHIWAL: A suspect in the murder of a female TikToker was killed in an alleged encounter with the Crime Control Department (CCD) near Chak 131/9-L on Tuesday night.
According to police, Muhammad Naseer Jutt, a resident of 95/12-L, had allegedly killed his niece, a TikTok content creator, in the name of honour on Aug 1. After the autopsy and witnesses statement, the Shahkot police registered a murder case against Naseer and the case was handed over to the CCD.
Police claimed that Sahiwal CCD had arrested him and recovered the murder weapon, a pistol, during the physical remand on Aug 17, however, while returning after the recovery the accused freed himself and jumped out of the vehicle and escaped near Chak 17/14-L.
Police claimed that police and CCD teams launched a search operation and on Tuesday night, CCD Inspector Asif Nawaz and his team, during routine patrol, spotted two unidentified motorcyclists near Chak 131/9-L, who tried to flee on seeing the team.
Police claimed that they started indiscriminate firing at the CCD vehicle and they abandoned their motorcycle and entered nearby fields, while continuing to fire on the police.
Later, police found a dead body and identified him as Naseer, while his unidentified accomplice escaped. Police also claimed to have recovered a pistol from the deceased.
GANG RAPE: The Shahkot police claimed to have arrested two of the three suspects for allegedly abducting and gang-raping a 32-year-old woman in village 25/14-L on Tuesday.
According to details, victim ‘W’, an orphan and the daughter of a blacksmith, was deceived by her relatives under the pretext of marriage.
Police claimed that the three accused took her to Chak 117/7-DR for making arrangements for her marriage with one of the accused identified as ‘S’. There, the three accused allegedly subjected her to repeated sexual assault.
While ‘S’ later refused to marry her. The suspects allegedly also looted Rs45,000 and jewellery worth Rs1m from her.
On the victim’s complaint, the Shahkot police registered a case and arrested S along with one other accused.
