ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Law and Justice Senator Azam Nazeer Tarar formally inaugurated the Complaint Management System (CMS), mobile application and new website of the Federal Ombudsman for Protection Against Harassment (Fospah), aimed at making the management of complaints and cases more efficient, transparent and citizen-friendly.
The inauguration ceremony was held here on Thursday and was attended by officials of Fospah, the National Information Technology Board (NITB) and other relevant stakeholders.
Addressing the ceremony, Federal Minister for Law and Justice Senator Azam Nazeer Tarar appreciated Fospah’s digital initiatives and said that the use of modern technology could play an important role in making access to justice easier, more transparent and more effective.
The law minister said that the Complaint Management System would enable better monitoring of different stages of complaints and cases, helping further strengthen case management, institutional performance and accountability.
He said that the mobile application and new website would provide citizens with easier access to Fospah’s services and relevant information and facilitate the process of seeking redressal of complaints.
Senator Azam Nazeer Tarar said that no society could progress by keeping half of its population confined to their homes. The economic, social and professional participation of women was essential for the overall development of the country.
He said that Islam had granted women extensive rights, and the government was taking measures for the protection, advancement and promotion of women’s rights and to provide them with a safe environment at the workplace.
The minister said that Pakistani women had demonstrated their capabilities and excelled in every sphere of life, and providing them with a safe, dignified and conducive working environment was the responsibility of the state.
Federal Ombudsman for Protection Against Harassment Fauzia Viqar said that the basic objective of introducing the digital system was to make the process of addressing complaints easier, more accessible, transparent and effective for citizens.
She said that the Complaint Management System would enable FOSPAH to manage the entire process in a more organised manner, from registration of a complaint through different stages of a case to orders and final decisions.
The Federal Ombudsman said that the new digital system would improve record management, facilitate monitoring of case progress and provide complainants with timely access to information regarding their cases.
Through the system, complainants would also be able to submit miscellaneous applications, review petitions and execution applications, along with other relevant applications, while electronic access to orders and other case-related documents would also be available.
She said that the new website would provide the public with easy access to information about Fospah’s services, laws, procedures, decisions, orders, statistics and institutional activities.
