Two killed, 42 injured in Kohlu bus mishap

DERA MURAD JAMALI: A woman and a child were killed and 42 others injured when a bus carrying a wedding party overturned on the Kohlu-Dera Ghazi Khan highway on Thursday.

Police said the bus was on its way to Kohlu from Rakhni and was carrying participants of a wedding ceremony. The incident took place in the Lasazai area of Kohlu district.

“The bus overturned due to overloading, resulting in injuries to more than 40 women, children and other passengers,” a police official said.

Police and rescue workers immediately rushed to the site and shifted the injured to District Headquarters Hospital, Kohlu.

However, a woman and a child succumbed to their injuries at the hospital.

Police said 25 seriously injured people were later shifted to Dera Ghazi Khan Hospital.
