RAWALPINDI: More than 40 incidents of street crimes in which 29 people were deprived of their mobile phones, six of their motorcycles, and cash and gold jewellery by bandits in different parts of Rawalpindi were reported to the police.

Police have registered separate cases and initiated an investigation. However, the culprits were yet to be arrested and the stolen goods to be recovered.

Mudassar Hanif complained to the City Police Station that his mobile phone was stolen by an unidentified person near Liaquat Bagh; four people were deprived of their mobile phones by some unidentified thieves in the Gunjmandi police area.

Mohammad Noman and Tauqeer Khan were deprived of their mobile phones by two unidentified robbers in the Ratta Amral area in broad daylight.

Hatif Hammad and Mubashir Ali were deprived of their mobile phones by unidentified thieves in the Waris Khan Police area.

Dr Ibrar Hussain complained to the Waris Khan police that his mobile phone worth Rs300,000 was stolen by unidentified thieves while he was on duty at Benazir Bhutto Hospital.

Five participants of the Eid Milad procession were deprived of their cell phones by unidentified thieves in the Banni police area.

Mohammad Khalil was deprived of his mobile phone by unidentified thieves in the Holy Family Hospital, while Ms Sidra Mustafa was deprived of Rs73,800 and a cell phone by unidentified thieves in the New Town police area. Muhammad Shahid’s mobile phone was stolen by an unidentified thief in People’s Colony.

Tauqeer Ahmed was robbed of his three mobile phones by four unidentified robbers in SamarZar Colony, Adiala Road, while Moiz ul Islam was robbed of his cell phone by some unidentified robbers in the Sadar Baruni area.

Anisur Rehman’s motorcycle was stolen from Dhoke Khabba, while some unidentified burglars broke into the house of Muhammad Usman in Bhabra Bazar and stole away valuables and Rs10,000 from his wife’s purse.

Qamar Zaman Abbasi’s car was stolen from the Banni police area, Mohsin Shah’s motorcycle was stolen from Kohati Bazar, while Sohail Khan was deprived of his motorcycle in Sadiqabad.

Sheikh Mohammad Diam, a resident of Chamababad, complained to the Race Course police, saying that some unidentified thieves broke into his house and stole away Rs25,000, gold jewellery, two cell phones and a battery worth Rs45,000. In Kahuta area, Nazim Zahoor and Gul Nawaz Ghori were robbed of cash and cell phones by three unidentified robbers.

Musarat Hussain, a resident of DHA Phase I, complained to the Morgah police that he had gone to offer his prayer in a mosque. On his return, he found a laptop, gold ornaments, and an ATM card stolen.

Some unidentified burglars broke into the house of Tayyab Hussain, a resident of Taxila and stole away gold jewellery worth Rs350,000 and some other valuables. Mohammad Latif’s motorcycle was stolen from Adiala Road.
