CDA accelerates development projects

ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) is accelerating the completion and execution of a number of development projects aimed at transforming Islamabad into a modern, accessible and citizen-friendly federal capital.

According to a spokesperson, the development projects are designed and focused particularly on improving Islamabad’s road infrastructure and connectivity, easing traffic congestion, reducing commuters’ travel time, improving road safety and providing citizens with a modern and efficient transportation network in line with the growing requirements of the capital city.

Meanwhile, Chairman CDA Sohail Ashraf on Saturday visited the Islamabad Expressway widening and rehabilitation of road ongoing development project to review the latest developments in the work on the project and received a detailed briefing on the progress, quality of construction and compliance with prescribed engineering standards.

During the visit, the CDA chairman was briefed about the various components of the project and the current status of the project.

He directed the concerned officers and executing agencies that there will be no compromise on the quality and standard of the project and ensure that all development works are completed strictly in accordance with approved designs, specifications, quality standards and timelines.

The CDA chairman further directed that development projects should be completed expeditiously and also meet the highest standards of quality, durability, safety and functionality so that citizens can benefit from the infrastructure for decades to come.
