ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Islamic Medical Association (PIMA) has expressed deep concern over the suspension of medical registrations of 15 doctors from Punjab and their subsequent dismissal from their posts.

“Such actions are contributing to uncertainty among doctors and may further accelerate the trend of migration abroad. A doctor’s career cannot be put at stake through a mere administrative decision. PIMA rejects such actions and believes that they could have serious and far-reaching consequences for the healthcare system and patient care,” a statement issued by the representative body of doctors said.

“PIMA calls for a review of these decisions and practices. The interests of patients and public health must remain the highest priority, while legitimate concerns and differences of opinion among doctors should be heard and addressed through meaningful dialogue,” PIMA Central President Prof. Atif Hafeez Siddiqui said.
