ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) on Sunday claimed that it successfully conducted the Medical and Dental Colleges Admission Test (MDCAT) in the country and Saudi Arabia for 138,158 registered candidates.

A total of 49,199 candidates were registered from Punjab, 38,841 from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 34,233 from Sindh, 9,923 from Balochistan, 2,761 from Azad Jammu and Kashmir, 1,721 from Gilgit-Baltistan and 1,245 from the federal capital.

In Islamabad, PMDC President Prof Dr Rizwan Taj visited MDCAT 2026 examination centres at Air University and Shah­eed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Medical University (SZA­BMU) to review arrangements and observe the conduct of the examination.

“MDCAT 2026 was successfully conducted across the country for 138,158 registered candidates at examination centres established in 34 cities and towns, along with an international centre in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

“During the visit, the President reviewed the facilities and arrangements provided to candidates and expressed satisfaction with the measures in place for the smooth and orderly conduct of the examination,” the PMDC said in a statement.

Dr Taj said that all possible facilities were provided to candidates, while special examination centres were also established in Islamabad for candidates from Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

“A post-hoc analysis of the MDCAT 2026 will be conducted to comprehensively review the overall examination process,” he said.

He claimed that MDCAT was successfully conducted for the second time under the present council in accordance with the prescribed regulatory framework, guidelines, questions and standards.
