Dubai real estate developer Emaar’s hotels in Dubai are currently seeing an occupancy rate of around 60 per cent, its founder and chairman told Reuters on Monday, adding the company expects a return to pre-war levels in the next 12 months.

“We were dealing with 83pc occupancy. During the war, we crashed down to 20, 25. Now we’re back to about 60pc occupancy. We’re very happy with 60pc occupancy. At least our hotels are operating,” Mohamed Alabbar has said in an interview.

The Iran war has led to heavy disruption to travel to and across the Gulf.
