US Vice President JD Vance has insisted that a “substantial amount of oil and gas” shipments were flowing through the Strait of Hormuz despite Iran’s blockade of the key trade route.
He accused Iran of “terrorising international shipping” and added, “We’re of course trying to protect the free flow of commerce as much as we can.”
He reiterated Donald Trump’s demand that Iran “can’t have a nuclear weapon”.
