Houthi rebel leader Abdel-Malik al-Houthi says that the group’s conflict with the US will persist as long as Washington’s goal is “dominance over the Yemeni people”, claiming in a televised speech that the US is considering joint military action with Saudi Arabia against his forces.
“Regional circumstances have kept the US and Israel somewhat preoccupied, creating a problem for the Saudi regime, which seeks their participation in its aggression and blockade against the Yemeni people,” al-Houthi says.
