ISLAMABAD: While three sisters of former prime minister Imran Khan have been arrested, the PTI said on Monday that some family members of the party’s founding chairman would reach Adiala jail on Tuesday (today) to convey to the Islamabad High Court (IHC) that its orders were not being implemented.

Moreover, the party has submitted a list of six lawyers to the jail administration, urging it to arrange a meeting as per the court orders.

A larger bench of the IHC had earlier ordered meetings of the family and lawyers with Mr Khan on Tuesdays and meetings of PTI leaders on Thursdays.

Identity protected to evade arrests; list of lawyers submitted

The sisters of the PTI founder have been reaching Adiala jail for the past many months, but they were hardly allowed to meet him.

However, they said they kept reaching there to convey to the IHC that its orders were not being implemented.

‘Not disclosing names’

PTI lawyer Awais Younas Chaudhry, who submits lists of party leaders and lawyers to the jail administration, told Dawn that it had been decided that some family members would reach Adiala jail on Tuesday.

“There are so many family members of Imran Khan who can come to Rawalpindi, but we have decided not to disclose their names as they can also be arrested,” he added.

The list of lawyers submitted to the jail administration includes PTI interim chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, Niazullah Niazi, Khalid Yousuf Chaudhry, Awais Younas Chaudhry, Raja Yasir and Malik Atif Bashir Awan.

“Although we don’t have any expectation that the orders of the IHC will be implemented, lawyers and family members will reach there,” Advocate Chaudhry said.
