In an interview aired by Fox News, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian says Iran did not seek war and that the ongoing conflict has been imposed on his country.
“We do not choose war. The war was imposed on us. We do not seek war,” he says, adding, “But we do not wish to continue. It’s America that must choose whether it wants to end this or not.”
Pezeshkian adds that Tehran remains willing to move forward on an agreement with the United States, referring to the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding reached with US President Donald Trump in June.
“We did reach an agreement with your president,” he says. “That agreement was signed, and based on that, we are willing and still wish to move forward.”
