Iran’s Vice President for Executive Affairs Mohammad Jafar Qaempanah has said that regional countries need to take ownership of their security, adding that US presence in the Middle East is “not constructive”, according to the state-run IRNA news agency.
He has dismissed the presence of extra-regional powers as a factor contributing to regional stability and security, emphasising, “The region’s destiny must be shaped and developed by the countries of the region themselves.”
