The navy of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has threatened to attack US warships, including in the Indian Ocean, if Washington launches a new war against Iran, Al Jazeera reports.

“If Trump considers the Strait of Hormuz his strait, then why aren’t his ships and vessels here?” Ali Mohammadi, the IRGC Navy’s deputy for political affairs, says, according to the semi-official Fars news agency.

Mohammadi says the US “should just bring one of its ships close to this area” if it claims to control the waterway.

He adds: “If another war breaks out, we will undoubtedly attack and hit their ships and destroyers even in the Indian Ocean.”
