Brigadier General Abolfazl Shekarchi, the spokesman for Iran’s armed forces, has warned that any aggression against the country would be met with “new military technologies”, Al Jazeera reports.
He has told state media that Iran’s army has grown stronger by shifting towards asymmetric warfare and relying more on domestically produced defence technology. He says the country was now far better positioned than in previous rounds of hostilities with the US and Israel.
“Iran’s armed forces are in very good condition,” Shekarchi says.
“Iran’s missiles and drones have become more advanced and more powerful, and this time, we have surprises in store for the enemy. We will respond to any potential aggression by the enemy with new military technologies.”
He adds that Iran’s asymmetric approach focuses on countering expensive and heavy weapons with less costly, but effective and practical defence equipment.
