China’s Vice President Han Zheng has called for respect for the sovereignty and security of nations in the Middle East as he addressed the UNGA, Al Jazeera reports.

“China holds that the sovereignty and security of countries of the Middle East, including the Gulf, should be respected. International industrial and supply chains should be kept stable and unimpeded, and global trade should be safeguarded,” he said.

Han also called for Palestinian sovereignty and for the rebuilding of Gaza.

“China calls for advancing the governance of the West Bank and a post-conflict reconstruction of Gaza, in accordance with the principle of the Palestinians governing Palestine,” he said.
