KARACHI: A young man was shot dead by robbers near the Superhighway on Sunday evening, police said.

The Sachal police said that Naeemullah was killed near Jamali Bridge near Teachers’ Society by unknown street criminals when he put up resistance.

The body was shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medico-legal formalities.

Newly wed woman stabbed to death

A newly wed woman was found murdered in her New Karachi home, police said on Sunday.

Area SHO Zahid Lodhi said Sawera, 22, was stabbed to death, adding that it appeared someone had entered the house and killed her as the door was found open from inside.

He said the victim had married of her own free will around two months ago.

The officer said the deceased’s mother suspected her son-in-law’s involvement in her daughter’s murder.
