Why Pakistan should be terrified of Chris Gayle

Dawn Sport Published February 20, 2015

In a few hours, Pakistan will be facing West Indies in another group match of the World Cup 2015. The pressure is on. Both teams have lost their first games. Both will be keen on conquering this one.

But one man may be the game changer.

A close examination of Chris Gayle's Instagram and Twitter accounts suggest Team Green is doomed.

For one, Gayle owns super glasses. The fact that they appear broken on one side is no comfort...

And he can bat with just about anything...

He's also super prepped for those toe-crushers.

Super, super prepped...

I mean REALLY ready...

He just couldn't be any readier...

OK STOP, please! Enough with the feet!

Also, Gayle can sport anything from Deepak Perwani...

To Mubasher Lucman...

More importantly, would our boys really want the reincarnation of Bob Marley to lose?

Or Snoop Dogg, for that matter...

Or Lasith Malinga...

Or Jack Sparrow...

I mean, the REAL Jack Sparrow...

And finally, who would want to win against Gayle and lose out on a Gangnam performance...

I don't think so. This match is going to be the battle of the underdogs. These guys got cleaned out by Ireland - Pakistan suffered the same at India's hands, but at least in our case we had a worthy opponent.

just goes to show how professional athletes relax themselves before big games, specially when their team is down. Pakistanis can learn something from it. They really don't have to go for foot massages but they definitely can find other ways to relax. Cheers!

Historically, when he gets feet massage or get relaxed like this, he brings the bad news for the opposition team. I can simply wish men in green a " very best of luck". Also MIG's without Hafeez. Gayle storm usually tamed by him. Unfortunately, no Professor this time.Hope Gayle does not show us" Mccallum on Fire" part II on Saturday.

@Shahid Pak needs to be more careful. Your statement has given the reason. WI go thrashed by Ireland so West Indies must be in no mood of picnic now. They will attack Pak aggressively. Also, do not take any team light. Just pray that our team qualifies for QF's.

@Ali S - WI loss to Ireland is much much worse than Pakistan losing to India. I feel Pak should approach this game with more confidence

He is just not as good as he pretends to be.More politician and famous for creating groups in West Indies ,constant head ache for West Indies Board. He needs to focus on his batting which is certainly doom.

@Goga Nalaik - i have been following cricket for 30 years and i have yet to find afridi as team player! what has he achieved for pakistan?..he has played almost 400 ODI's with average of about 23. he was made captain of Test team and retire after only one test as captain. He only plays for himself and does well against weak bowling.

I think this is the ghost, one of our cricketers saw in his hotel room. Don't worry he is a friendly ghost like casper. But then a ghost is a ghost who knows he might scare you'll.

Gayle is no doubt, one of the best batmen of the cricket history, more than that he is also the most stylish player that cricketing world could ever see. At last but not the least he is the best entertainer we could ever see in cricketing community.Best of luck to both teams whoever wins, no matter, but I am waiting for Gayle being on fire
