TIMERGARA: Tanzeem-i-Asateza, Lower Dir chapter, and Jumatud Dawa held separate protest rallies at Timergara and Chakdara on Sunday against the Israeli attacks on Gaza and demanded of the world powers to stop the Jewish state from killing innocent Palestinians.

Hundreds of teachers and elders marched on Balambat-Timergara road and chanted slogans against Israel for killing innocent Palestinians. They also staged a sit in outside the Timergara Press Club.

Provincial president of All Teachers’ Coordination Council Syed Mohammad Shah, Tanzeem-i-Asateza provincial vice president Sahibzada Sadiq Jan, Lower Dir president Shafiq ur Rahman, general secretary Mushtaq ur Rahman and information secretary Abdul Khaliq addressed the rally.

The speakers criticised the OIC, UN and global human rights’ organisations for keeping silence over Gaza issue.

Jumatud Dawa also staged a rally at Chakdara against Israel led by its Malakand division chief Abu Siaf. The activists marched on Chakdara-Batkhela road and chanted slogans against Israel.

Addressing the marchers in front of the Chakdara Press Club, JuD leaders accused Israel, America and India of hatching conspiracies against Muslims across the world.

They said more than 2,000 innocent Palestinians were killed in Israeli bombardment, but the UN and the OIC had been doing nothing to stop Israel from its atrocities.

PAPERS RECHECKING DEMANDED: The Pakhtun Students Federation (PkSF), Lower Dir chapter, on Sunday demanded of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government to order BISE Malakand to recheck FSc chemistry and Urdu papers as hundreds of students had been failed despite doing well in the examinations.

In a statement, the PkSF leaders said majority of the failed students were sure of their success but they were declared failed in the result. They threatened to bring students on roads if their demand wasn’t met.

WATER SUPPLY SCHEME: Residents of Kano Amlook Dara on Sunday demanded of the local administration and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government to probe irregularities in execution of village water supply scheme.

Talking to journalists, Rehman Zada, Mohammad Ayaz, Ajab Khan and others said the water supply scheme was completed a year ago but due to use of substandard pipes and other materials the scheme couldn’t be made functional.
