Emma Bunton teases about new Spice Girls album
Emma Bunton reckons the Spice Girls need to reunite as soon as possible because they’re all ‘getting on a bit’.
Emma known as Baby Spice, has revealed that she’s working hard with Geri Horner to get the band back together so they can add some Spice to younger generation’s musical tastes. Emma didn’t point any fingers at her former bandmates — as it’s rumoured that Victoria Beckham is dead against re-joining the girl group — but instead blamed hectic schedules.
Emma would like them to release a greatest hits record and perform again, but she says if it doesn’t happen sooner rather than later, they’ll be too old.
Another bandmate Melanie C, followed in Victoria’s footsteps by turning down the chance to join forces with Geri, Emma and Mel B for the Wannabe hitmakers’ 20th anniversary comeback, and said it was because of seven-year-old daughter Scarlet.
Jude Law to play Albus Dumbledore in Fantastic Beasts sequel
British actor Jude Law is to play young wizard Albus Dumbledore in the next Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them movie. The role was originated by Richard Harris in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. Harris also played the part in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets and Michael Gambon took over the character after Harris died in 2002. Gambon went on to play Dumbledore in the franchise’s remaining six movies.
2016’s Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is a prequel to the Potter franchise. Dumbledore is mentioned, but not seen in the fantasy flick. The upcoming Beasts sequel will show Dumbledore “decades before he became headmaster at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry,” the Pottermore website said in announcing Law’s casting.
At this point in the story, he is the wizarding school’s Transfiguration professor and a contemporary of Gellert Grindelwald — the Dark wizard we met in Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, played by Johnny Depp.
New Monopoly pieces
Hasbro announced the newest edition of Monopoly will ditch the classic wheelbarrow, boot and thimble tokens, and introduce the T-Rex, rubber ducky and penguin pieces selected by a fan vote to join five other classic pieces.
“Fans across the globe have spoken, and the eight tokens set to ‘pass GO’ in the next generation of the Monopoly game are the Scottie dog, top hat, car, battleship, cat, T-Rex, rubber ducky and penguin tokens: the company said in a press release.
More than 4.3 million people voted in the “Token Madness” campaign, which asked fans to select a new line-up from a mixture of 64 pieces, including eight Monopoly classics and 56 new choices, including a hashtag, emoji or computer.
Vice-president of marketing for Hasbro Gaming Jonathan Berkowitz said. “The next generation of tokens clearly represents the interests of our fans around the world and we’re proud to have our iconic game impacted by the people that feel most passionate about playing it.”
Robert Downey Jr. to star as ‘Doctor Dolittle’
Well, you have seen him asIron man, but now you will see him starring in the movie The Voyage of Doctor Dolittle, based on the classic character who can talk to animals, for Universal Pictures.
British author Hugh Lofting created the Doctor Dolittle character in the 1920s series of children’s books, in which a Victorian-era physician opts to treat animals instead of humans because he’s able to speak with them.
Lofting’s character was portrayed by Rex Harrison in the 1967 musical Doctor Dolittle, which won Oscars for best original song and best visual effects. Eddie Murphy starred in the 1998 film Doctor Dolittle and the 2001 sequel, which cumulatively grossed more than $470 million at the worldwide box office.
