New Labyrinth film in development
A new film set in the Labyrinth universe is in development from TriStar Pictures and director Fede Alvarez.
According to the reports, the new film is not a remake or reboot of the original 1986 film which starred David Bowie and Jennifer Connelly and will act as more of a sequel. Alvarez is set to direct the feature from a script he is writing with Jay Basu.
The duo is tackling Labyrinth after they finish work on Girl in the Spider’s Web, the sequel to Girl With the Dragon Tattoo which Alvarez is also set to direct. While the movie will have Lisa Henson, of The Jim Henson Company, as the producer.
The original movie was directed by Muppets creator Jim Henson before his death in 1990, featured Connelly in one of her first roles navigating a magical maze in order to save her young brother from the goblin king, played by Bowie. Bowie’s character will not be present in the new film.
Vin Diesel on Dwayne Johnson feud: ‘We still love each other’
Vin Diesel says he and Dwayne Johnson “still love each other” despite their reported feud. Diesel addressed his rumoured conflict with the Johnson at the New York premiere of The Fate of the Furious after Johnson slammed his male co-stars in August.
“We still love each other, that’s my boy,” Diesel said on the red carpet. “In my house, he’s ‘Uncle Dwayne,’ and I’m proud of that. I don’t think the world realises how close we are, in a weird way,” he added. “I think some things may be blown out of proportion.”
Harry Styles to perform on a TV
Fans of Harry Styles will be glad to know that Harry will perform on “The Late Late Show with James Corden” from May 15-18 on CBS, Corden announced in a video conference with the pop star on his show.
The former One Direction member will perform a song off his new album, Harry Styles, every night and participate with Corden in show segments, according to the sources.
The 23-year-old singer released the first single, “Sign of the Times” of his album in early April. The album will be available in multiple formats, including a white vinyl version and a limited edition CD, with a 32-page hardcover book featuring exclusive photos from the singer’s recording sessions.
