A big win!

We are delighted to celebrate this Eid because our happiness has been doubled as Pakistan’s cricket team has won Champions Trophy — an amazing cricket match between Pakistan and India. The victory came to the country after such a long time and that also by our new and young players. We are proud of them!

Pakistan’s condition

The deplorable condition of the country is a case of much misery to the people of Pakistan, which doesn’t stop but worsens with every passing day.

Our political setup is in ruins and corruption is prevalent everywhere. The misuse of political power and favouritism is a norm. Everyday so many ordinary people die due to the poor law and order situation.

Millions are malnourished and suffering from diseases which can easily be eradicated if proper measures are taken. This is all due to the gross negligence and callous indifference shown by the government. We have also not forged a stand and joined hands to eliminate these kinds of social nuisances that are stopping us from progressing.

Cook-it-yourself

This is with reference to the “Mango ice cream” by Aamnah Arshad in Cook-it-yourself section (YW, June 17). My mum tried the ice-cream for me and no doubt it tasted so yummy! I loved it very much and so did my siblings.

Jokes

This is with reference to the joke published in the issue of (YW, May 13). In the joke a kid was told by his mum that ‘computer is smart because it listens to its motherboard’ though it was there for a laugh but it had a deep message in it.

If computer listens to its motherboard and is smart, we should also listen to our mothers and can become smart. And I think everything in the YW carries a good message, whether it is an article, story or joke. It is on us kids to receive the message in a positive way.

A rich beggar

This is regarding the story “A rich beggar” by Dr M Qudrat-e-Khuda (YW, May 27). I agree with the writer that we should not ignore beggars and always help them. But on the other hand, it is true that beggary has now become a profession with so many fake ones among the real beggars.

However, we should not misbehave with anyone whether they are fake or real. We should always reply in a polite way.

Young World

I have been reading Young World for more than 10 years now and always enjoyed every article in it. Even though I am now a grown up, I still read the articles and stories, and enjoy the jokes, quotes, poems, puzzles, etc.

Recently I was so impressed by a poem “Baba” by Amal Bahadur, an eight-year-old child from Turbat (YW, June 10). The expressions were so deep and truly depicted a child’s emotions and longing for his/her father. God bless the brave child and I hope her expressions will go a long way to reach great heights in poetry.
