PESHAWAR: The Al-Khidmat Foundation (AKF), Pakistan, has sent five trucks loaded with relief goods and food packets for the earthquake victims of Afghanistan.
The goods, including 50 tents, 400 food, 400 winter and 150 tarpaulin packages, were sent on Thursday afternoon from Peshawar to Afghanistan, said an AKF spokesman. He said these packages would be distributed among the quake victims of Paktika and other affected areas of the neighbouring country.
He said 167 trucks loaded with goods, including wheat flour, ghee, rice, sugar, pulses, water coolers and medicines, worth Rs320 million had already been sent for assistance of the earthquake victims.
He said that a 20-member team of doctors was shifted to Kabul where they established a specialised operation theatre and made free surgeries of over 600 patients.
The spokesman said that Rs350 million relief goods were provided so far for assistance of the quake victims.
