Anger is not the solution

This is regarding the article “Anger is not the solution” by Safia Khanum (YW, March 11).

Anger is one of the worst shortcomings in a person, because anger can be expressed with others in such a way that it can spoil relationships.

Secondly, anger also keeps the person uneasy and stressed, taking a physical, emotional and mental toll on them. And in anger, a person does not realise what they are doing and they later regret it, however, by that time, much damage would have taken place.

So we should always try to keep a check on our anger and also make sure that we do not take it out on innocent people who are not the reason behind our anger.

When we are angry, we should not use harsh words because they can never be taken back.

How I faced my fears

This is regarding the article “How I faced my fears” by Alishba Atif (YW, February 11). As a student and child, I can relate to the content of the article. It highlights the common practice of parents imposing their desires on their children, resulting in fears and doubts in the children about not being able to fulfil those expectations.

The article conveys how one can overcome these fears without feeling guilty. I would suggest that readers should confront their fears by speaking about them to their parents and tell them how they feel about it.

One of the biggest reasons for not speaking for oneself and many negative changes in our conduct are brought on by our fears. We begin to feel and respond to seemingly minor issues in a way that only downgrades us.

This has rightly been explained in the article “How I faced my fears” by Alishba Atif. So, instead of letting your anxieties ruin you, conquer your fears and become who you want to be, face the world and you will get what you desire for.

The article “How I faced my fears” by Alishba Atif was really encouraging as she gave tips on how one can bravely face his/her fears.

Most of us believe that our parents would never understand what we want to be, which is why we keep everything to ourselves and never express anything to them. However, if we make an effort to stand up for ourselves and politely talk about it to our elders, I am sure they will understand our point of view.
