The golden days of my childhood

This is regarding the article “The golden days of my childhood” (YW, March 2). It was a wonderful article that brought back memories of my childhood.

We kids used to play and have endless fun, feeling carefree. Our lives were full of adventure. However, the article also highlighted an important point: no matter how enjoyable life is, we should take care of ourselves and not be overconfident.

I liked the article “The golden days of my childhood” by Sarfaraz Ahmed. Just like the writer, I along with my friends, used to explore new places in our village. Reading this article brought back memories for me. All these memories are precious and we should try to remain in contact with our old friends.

The world of forgotten games

This is regarding the cover article “The world of forgotten games” by Muhammad Ibrahim Shafi, (YW, March 2). The writer emphasised the importance of traditional games, which are no longer played by anyone and few people know about them. In the past, games such as kho kho, pakram pakrai, barafpaani, etc were commonly played by children and teenagers in the streets. But sadly now, digital devices have replaced all the fun that these games used to give.

There is no doubt that the games played in past kept people fit and agile, while the ones being played on electronic devices today only lead to obesity and health issues.

The cover article “The world of forgotten games” by Muhammad Ibrahim Shafi, was a great reminder of our traditional games. Games like gilli danda, kho, pitto garam, and others were part of our culture and helped keep our bodies and minds healthy.

These games are now replaced by video games. The article suggests that we should bring back these traditional games, because they’re an important part of our culture.

Toppled by her temper

This concerns the story “Toppled by her temper” by Rosheen Fatima (YW, February 3). The story focused on the power of the rude words we say that hurt others.

The climax, where Sara faced a heavy blow on her career due to her harsh words gave the lesson that just like living without aiming is foolishness, so is speaking without thinking.
