DC to launch Superman Unlimited ongoing comic series
DC’s Superman Unlimited comic series, written by Dan Slott and illustrated by Rafael Albuquerque, will debut on May 21. The series kicks off with a Kryptonite asteroid creating a global arms race for Green K, tipping the power balance in Metropolis. Superman must form new alliances to survive.
The comic is part of DC’s “Summer of Superman” initiative, which also includes titles starring Superboy, Supergirl and more.
A free ‘Zero Issue’ prelude will be available on May 3 for Free Comic Book Day.
Marvel unveils a terrifying new Hulk in What If...?
The What If...? Season 3 premiere, titled What If... The Hulk Fought the Mech Avengers? reveals a chilling alternate reality where Bruce Banner’s desperation to rid himself of the Hulk backfires spectacularly.
In his Gamma Lab, Banner experiments with extreme gamma radiation, accidentally creating a monstrous being called the Apex — a kaiju-sized, rage-fuelled version of the Hulk.
The Apex wreaks havoc across the globe, forcing the Avengers to battle it using robotic mechs, only to face devastating losses. Years later, a new generation of Avengers rises and Banner, urged by Sam Wilson, unleashes a supercharged Hulk to destroy the Apex in a climactic battle.
Though non-canon, this episode showcases a darker, more tragic Hulk with catastrophic potential, reminding fans of Bruce Banner’s eternal struggle with the beast within.
LEGO unveils Spider-Man 2 train fight set
LEGO will release a 393-piece set (76321) in August, recreating the iconic train battle between Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man and Alfred Molina’s Doc Ock from Spider-Man 2. The set includes a brick-built subway car and minifigures of Spider-Man and Doc Ock.
This isn’t LEGO’s first train-themed Spider-Man set; a similar one launched in 2004. Given Spider-Man’s massive popularity and merchandise success, more Sam Raimi-era sets or other cinematic Spider-Man moments may follow if this set proves popular.
