MARDAN: Scholarship award ceremony 2024–2025 was held here on Friday in Women University Mardan wherein about Rs9 million were distributed among 90 deserving students through four key scholarship programmes.

The event was graced by chief guest Prof Dr Qibla Ayaz, former chairman of the Council of Islamic Ideology, who highlighted critical role of women’s education in national development and other related fields.

On the occasion, vice chancellor of Women University Mardan Prof Dr Razia Sultana praised students’ achievements and acknowledged the support of donors and faculty.

The four key scholarship programmes included, Scotland Pakistan scholarship, Rs 6.13 million to 37 BS and MPhil students; Rs.1.26 million of district zakat office scholarship were distributed among 21 students.

Under the Momina Cheema foundation scholarship, Rs330,000 were initially disbursed to 11 students, of a pledged total of Rs1.32 million. Likewise, Rs.371629 rupees of Pakistan Bait-ul-Maal scholarship were given away to 21 deserving students of Women University Mardan.

The university officials said that special recognition was given to Ms. Irum Amin and Mr. Jehanzeb Khan for their support under Pakistan Scotland scholarship 2024-2025 and district zakat office Mardan scholarship.

Similarly, special acknowledgement was given to Dr. Ambreen Ayub, convener of the scholarship committee and committee members for their exceptional leadership whose coordination and dedication played a pivotal role in ensuring a transparent, merit-based, and timely scholarship disbursement process.

The ceremony concluded with cheques and certificate distributions, reinforcing WUM’s commitment to inclusive education and women’s empowerment.
