QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti and JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman, in a meeting, agreed to resolve issues related to raids on religious seminaries in the province and their registration through mutual understanding and meaningful dialogue.
The JUI-F provincial leadership had strongly reacted to the seminaries raid issue and announced a protest programme in the province, including a shutter-down strike on April 6 across Balochistan.
Chief Minister Bugti held the meeting with Maulana Fazlur Rehman after returning from abroad on Monday at the JUI-F leader’s residence in Islamabad.
Sources said that during the meeting, the two leaders discussed in detail the overall political situation, law and order, and other issues, including recent developments in the province.
They also exchanged views on maintaining peace and stability, promoting political harmony, and addressing various public and administrative matters.
“Issues related to madressas that emerged in recent days were also discussed, and both sides agreed that all matters would be resolved through mutual understanding and meaningful dialogue,” the statement said.
Chief Minister Bugti said the Balochistan government would continue its engagement with all political and religious parties to promote sustainable peace, tolerance, and a culture of dialogue in the province.
He added that political harmony and cooperation are essential in the public interest of Balochistan.
