This is regarding the recipe “Banana upside-down cake” by Muhammad Umar Shaheen (YW, April 18). It was a simple and easy recipe.
What I liked most about this recipe was the idea of turning the cake upside down so the caramelised bananas appear on top, making it more appetising.
I made it, but as I am not allowed to use the oven, I had to ask my mum for help.

Pictures without memories
This refers to the article “Pictures without memories” by Sarwasha Mairaj (YW, April 4).
It’s a fact that as soon as we reach a beautiful place, instead of enjoying the atmosphere, we take out our mobile phones and start taking pictures. Therefore, we do not actually experience what it is like to be in that place and what it has to offer us.
The article emphasises that we can create meaningful memories without taking photos or making videos.

The powder in the lab
This is regarding the story “The powder in the lab” by Muhammad Mahad Naveed (YW, April 18).
I liked the story very much as it was quite different from the usual stories published in the magazine. The story felt intense and almost like a real-time experience, pulling the reader straight into the situation.

The world I wish existed
This is regarding the cover article “The world I wish” existed by Muhammad Ibrahim Shafi (YW, April 4). It was very relatable for students handling the pressure of academic life.
Intense competition, heavy workloads and expectations leave little space for mental peace. We should understand that students are not robots for scoring good grades, but human beings who need understanding and emotional support.
We should have a more compassionate educational environment where teachers are approachable and mental health is taken seriously instead of being ignored.

I completely agree with the views of Muhammad Ibrahim Shafi in the article “The world I wish existed” that students feel trapped in a vicious cycle of exams, expectations and comparison.
We, students, need a supportive environment where we are appreciated for our talents and not just our academic performance. People should be understood, and not judged by marks.
