Children are born curious and they learn by asking questions. But the real challenge comes if you don’t get an answer that satisfies your curious soul; so for those times, the Curious Kidcast provides a perfect solution. It’s a podcast and website built entirely around true stories and fascinating discoveries that spark curiosity and creativity.

The site is a colourful gem that attracts kids around 7 to 11 years old, though younger or older kids could probably get into it too. The homepage greets you with “Big Questions, Amazing Answers!” Scroll down and you see a simple, yet colourful layout of all the episodes; play them without going anywhere else.

The show is hosted by Andy, who mixes real facts with jokes through storytelling. The topics are mostly science, nature, space, animals, history and the human body. Every episode starts with one weird, but genuine question a kid actually asked, like “Why do bruises change colour?”, “What if Earth had rings like Saturn?” and “Why are bubbles always round?” etc.

The episodes are not put in neat categories; you have to go through them to find what interests you. Once you play a podcast, a new page opens with the episode, and below it, you can see show notes and points being covered in the episode. You can adjust the playback speed and if you want, you can even download the episode.

There’s also a “Transcripts” page, which I think is one of the best options here. It lets you or your parents read the whole episode instead of just listening to it, word for word. Apart from that, there’s an “About” page, contact information and a form where you can send your questions if you have any to be picked for a future episode.

The site has zero ads and episodes run about 10 to 15 minutes. New episodes are uploaded weekly.
