KARACHI: A day after his son was found murdered, the father of 25-year-old Mir Raza Ali, a student of the Institute of Business Administration (IBA) and a businessman, has demanded justice and the immediate arrest of those responsible for his son’s killing.
Raza’s bullet-riddled body was recovered from bushes in Block-1 of Gulistan-i-Jauhar on Wednesday. He had been missing since he left his home in PECHS on Tuesday.
The grieving father, Mir Husain Ali, told the media that Mir Raza was his only son and that coming to terms with his loss was extremely difficult for him.
He said his son had no known enmity with anyone. He urged the authorities to ensure justice by arresting those involved in his son’s murder.
He told the media that his son had been running his own food business — Wafflix — for the past five years. He had initially established a shop in Bahadurabad before opening a branch in North Nazimabad.
The father said his son had become engaged last year and was due to be married in August. The family had been busy making arrangements for the wedding.
Meanwhile, police have made little headway into the investigations of the murder case.
A senior official, speaking to Dawn on condition of anonymity, said investigators had obtained some leads and were following them to establish the motive behind the killing and identify those involved.
He said Raza had left home after receiving a call on his phone. The official added that his mobile phone remained missing.
