Toddler’s food videos criticised
A Chinese couple faced widespread criticism after posting mukbang videos of their three-year-old daughter, nicknamed Peiqi, eating large amounts of unhealthy food. The child’s weight reportedly reached 35 kilogrammes (77 pounds), more than double the typical weight for her age.
The parents said Peiqi simply had a big appetite and denied forcing her to eat, claiming the money earned from the videos barely covered food costs. However, public backlash led social media platforms to ban the child’s accounts, and the parents later deleted their profiles.
The case has reignited concerns about the growing use of children in online content, including mukbang, prank videos and product promotions, raising questions about the safety and well-being of minors on social media.
Art on paper towels
Polish artist Helena Minginowicz uses ordinary paper towels as her canvas to explore the fragile and temporary nature of life.
Instead of traditional canvas, she creates detailed Renaissance-style paintings with layers of airbrushed acrylic, often featuring people and symbolic animals such as doves and swans. She usually sketches only a basic outline before completing each artwork freehand. Despite the challenge of painting on such a delicate, absorbent surface, Minginowicz has made it her signature style. She is currently preparing for a solo exhibition at Galerie Prima in Paris.
Boy sets hopscotch world record
A nine-year-old boy from Kentucky has earned a Guinness World Records title by drawing and completing a 10-square hopscotch course in just 48.27 seconds.
Daxton Hunter, of Bowling Green, said he was inspired by his father and brother, who also hold Guinness World Records titles. After researching different records, he chose the fastest time to draw and complete a hopscotch course and successfully claimed the under-16s record.
His mother said Daxton enjoys taking on difficult challenges and is determined to achieve any goal he sets.
Iron Man artwork breaks record
Original artwork from Tales of Suspense No 39, which introduced Marvel’s Iron Man in 1963, has sold for a record $3.875 million at Heritage Auctions.
The page, illustrated by Don Heck, attracted six bidders after the price crossed $3 million.
The sale set a new world record for the most expensive piece of original comic art.
The previous record of $3.36 million was held by artwork from 1984’s Marvel Super Heroes Secret Wars No 8, featuring Spider-Man’s first black costume.
