PAKISTAN’S National Security Adviser and spymaster Lt-Gen Asim Malik met Bahrain’s Crown Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa on Sunday to discuss strengthening bilateral ties and current regional developments, according to the state-run Bahrain News Agency (BNA).

The two officials engaged in high-level discussions at Riffa Palace to thoroughly evaluate recent developments on the regional and international stage.

The meeting emphasised joint security cooperation and the shared strategic goals of both countries.

During the meeting, the crown prince, who serves as Bahrain’s prime minister and deputy supreme commander of the armed forces, highly praised Pakistan’s ongoing geopolitical contributions, BNA reported.

He affirmed the “depth of the bilateral relations” between the two allied nations, specifically noting Pakistan’s critical role alongside friendly countries in “consolidating the foundations of security and stability in the region”.

In response, Lt Gen Malik, who also serves as director general of Inter-Services Intelligence, expressed his gratitude for the crown prince’s keen interest in advancing Pakistani-Bahraini diplomatic and military relations, wishing the Gulf kingdom continued progress, peace, and economic prosperity.

The strategic talks underscored a mutual commitment to advancing joint coordination across multiple sectors for the benefit of both populations.

Several prominent Bahraini officials attended the meeting, including the minister of the prime minister’s court, the minister of finance, and Deputy National Security Adviser Sheikh Khalid bin Ali bin Jaber Al Khalifa.
