SUKKUR: A woman suffered severe burn injuries during a quarrel with her two brothers-in-law in their home, located in Pahelwan Chandio village, within the limits of the Mian Sahib police station of Shikarpur district, on Sunday.

The victim, Jannat Khatoon, wife of Mohammad Ali Chandio, was taken to the Sultan Kot Hospital, where she was provided emergency medical aid and then referred to the Sukkur Civil Hospital for advanced treatment.

In her statement, the victim said that her brothers-in-law, Abdul Razzaq and Ahmed Ali, were demanding money and that on her refusal, they poured petrol on her body and torched her.

Hospital sources said that the woman had suffered 12 per cent burns on her body.

The police carried out raids on several places within the village but could not trace out the suspects till late in the evening.
