AMMAN: A military court today [Aug 28] found six of the ten accused guilty of complicity in the assassination of King Abdullah of Jordan. All six were sentenced to death. The court found the remaining four not guilty. King Abdullah was killed on July 20 last as he entered a Jerusalem mosque for Jumma prayers. An Arab gunman … leapt from hiding as the King arrived and shot him dead. The King’s bodyguard … opened fire and the assassin fell dead beside the victim.
[Meanwhile, according to Radio Pakistan,] Reports received in Muzaffarabad from Bharati-occupied Kashmir indicate that non-Muslim evacuees from the Punjab, Hindu and Sikh evacuees from the Punjab and non-Muslim emigrants from Bharat constitute not a meagre fraction of the voters to the so-called constituent assembly in Bharati-occupied Kashmir.
Giving this news Radio Pakistan’s Azad Kashmir representative says this is also borne out by the fact that although the Bharati-occupied part of the Jammu province has been almost denuded of its Muslim majority, the number of voters from that part of Jammu is almost equivalent to the entire Hindu population of the Jammu province.
