Iran’s Revolutionary Guards say that two oil tankers have caught fire after striking mines while transiting the Strait of Hormuz outside a route designated by Iranian forces, AFP reports.
In a statement, the Guards said the oil tankers sought “at the urging of the US military to transit via an illegal route” in the strait before “striking mines and exploding”, adding that they “are currently on fire”.
