KHUZDAR: The Zamindars Action Committee has announced a protest on Monday against the continued shortage of urea and other agricultural fertilisers, with plans to block the Quetta-Karachi National Highway.

The committee said the protest will begin at 8am at Ghora Chowk in Khuzdar.

Farmers in Nal and adjoining areas have been facing serious difficulties for around one and a half months due to the unavailability of urea fertiliser, the committee added.

The delay in the supply of fertiliser has affected ongoing agricultural activities, while farmers are increasingly concerned about the future of their crops.

Farmers said the upcoming onion crop requires the timely application of urea fertiliser, while the sowing season for wheat, barley, and other crops is also approaching.
