RAWALPINDI: The body of a lawyer was found inside a car in the strictly guarded Rawalpindi Judicial Complex parking lot, while a nine-year-old schoolgirl was killed when a Green Bus hit the motorcycle carrying her and her father on densely populated Adiala Road.

According to the initial police report, a moharir at the Judicial Complex informed Civil Lines police about the presence of a body on the front seat of a car at around 9:30am. The deceased was identified as Advocate Sanaullah Satti, the report said.

A Punjab Forensic Science Agency (PFSA) team was also called to the scene. Senior Superintendent of Police (Operations) Malik Tariq Mehboob told the media that the cause of death would be ascertained after the forensic report was received.

The face and eyes of the deceased were visibly swollen and traces of blood were also found when police recovered the body.

The police have also taken into custody CCTV footage from the Judicial Complex and interviewed security guards.

Meanwhile, the death of the schoolgirl sparked unrest among the people who damaged the bus, held the driver hostage and injured him.

However, the angry people set the rear side of the green bus on fire, but police promptly moved and controlled the fire before the entire bus was engulfed.

Chief Traffic Officer Farhan Aslam and Superintendent of Police (SP) Saddar Division Ms Anam Sher reached the spot with a police contingent and shifted the injured driver and the girl’s body to the hospital.

The police have arrested the protesters involved in the stone-pelting and damaging the green buses.
