QUETTA: A meeting of the Balochistan Provincial Task Force for Polio Eradication was held under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Shakil Qadir Khan, with participants reviewing the performance of the previous polio campaign and discussing preparations, micro-planning, vaccination coverage and challenges for the upcoming campaign.

The Prime Minister’s Focal Person for Polio Ayesha Raza attended the meeting via video link.

During the meeting, a report about the previous campaign was presented. Participants also reviewed measures being taken by departments and district administrations to make the upcoming campaign more effective and successful.

Chief Secretary Shakil Qadir Khan said the eradication of poliovirus from Balochistan was among the government’s top priorities and directed all departments concerned to utilise all available resources to achieve the national objective.

He stressed the need for identifying obstacles to polio eradication and to take effective measures to address their root causes on a permanent basis. He said eliminating polio from the province was essential to ensure a safe and healthy future for posterity.
